The student's success in the course is determined by evaluating both the in-term grades and the final exam grade together.
In-term grades consist of small quizzes, mid-term exam grades, assignments, practical work, and any other relevant tasks based on the course. In a credit-based system, the types and weights of the in-term and final evaluations (such as exams, assignments, practicals, etc.) are communicated by the course instructor to the department head within the first two weeks of the term and are announced to students by the relevant academic unit management. The final grade is determined by the course instructor, taking into account the overall performance level of all students taking the course, and it is assigned using one of the letter grades listed below.
For the final grade calculation, the in-term assignments contribute 40% to the final grade, while the final exam contributes 60%.
The graduation requirements are as follows:
- Successful completion of all courses in the program,
- No "FF" grades,
- A minimum grade of CB or higher in each course,
- Completion of 120 ECTS credits, with 60 credits for coursework and 60 credits for the thesis phase,
- Submission of a thesis work consisting of at least 15,000 words in accordance with the "Thesis Writing Guide" provided by the Graduate Education Institute, and defending the thesis if required,
- The thesis work must have a maximum plagiarism rate of below 30% as accepted by the institution,
- Submission of the thesis work in English after receiving approval in Turkish.
